Georgetown Law’s Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) announces the fourth Annual Academy of WTO Law & Policy, a non-degree professional development program on WTO law and policy, to be held at the Law Center from November 16-20, 2009. The purpose of the Academy is to provide intensive examination of the legal obligations and policy underpinnings of the WTO and its agreements, in the context of how the WTO operates and how it relates to national governments. The program is designed to help governments, educational institutions, and others build the capacity to take advantage of the multilateral trading system, by training legal professionals, government officials, academics, and others -- including those from developing countries and transition economies.
