In recent years, the U.S. House has passed legislation to create a law clerk program in Congress analogous to the judicial clerkship program. This bill will be re-introduced in the 112th Congress. Meanwhile, state and local legislatures are considering similar programs, and understanding of the importance of legislation and legislative work is growing within the legal community.
Please save the date for an unprecedented gathering of lawmakers, scholars, and practitioners to discuss legislative clerkships and their implications. This conference will feature keynote remarks by Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA).
