J.D. Seminar 419 (cross-listed) | 1 credit hours

This seminar will examine the rapidly developing field of governance “best practices” for nonprofit organizations. Recent reforms at leading nonprofit organizations will be discussed as will the impact of government legislation and tax policies. Guest speaker participants will include governance experts who have led reform studies for nonprofit organizations and senior executives of local nonprofits.

Grading will be based on a 10 page final paper on an approved topic and class participation.

Prerequisite: Prior or concurrent enrollment in Corporations.

In Fall 2013, this course will meet on the following seven Tuesdays: 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, and 11/12.
