Accounting Concepts for Lawyers
J.D. Course 022 (cross-listed) | 1 credit hours
This course consists of one two-hour lecture per week in the spring semester for seven weeks. It is an introduction to accounting terminology, accounting in business relationships, an understanding of accounting records, the balance sheet and profit and loss statement, and the relationship between them. This "mini" course is presented on an optional basis for students who have no accounting or financial background as an aid in their study of Business Planning, Corporations, Taxation, and other courses.
Students may not receive credit for both this course and Accounting for Lawyers or Introduction to Accounting or Financial Reporting and Analysis; or the graduate courses, Accounting for Securities Lawyers; Basic Accounting Concepts for Lawyers; or Financial Reporting and Accounting.
This course will meet the first seven Thursdays of the Spring 2011 semester on the following dates: 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 3/3, and 3/17.
