Law, Mind and Brain Seminar
Professor Mikhail J.D. Seminar 354 | 3 credit hours Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary field of research that encompasses parts of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, economics, biology, anthropology, and other disciplines. Recent discoveries about the mind and brain are already beginning to influence the legal system in multiple ways, and these applications seem likely to increase in coming years. This advanced seminar will survey some of this new research and critically examine its implications for law, policy, and legal theory. Special attention will be given to the instructor’s own research on moral cognition, as well as other topics and current research at the intersection of ethics, cognitive science, and law.
