Multilateral Trade Negotiations at the WTO in 2012, the Ongoing Doha Development Agenda and Review of the Dispute Settlement Understanding

Stewart LL.M Course 759 (cross-listed) | 2 credit hours This course will look at the scope of the current round of multilateral trade negotiations, go through the issues involved (agriculture, non-agricultural market access, services, trade facilitation, rules, special and differential treatment, etc.) and the ongoing negotiations on revisions to the dispute settlement system, look at the progress to date (8-1-2004 framework, 12-2005 Hong Kong ministerial declaration (assuming progress)), and look at the open issues in 2010. Prerequisite: An introductory course on the WTO.
