Antitrust Law
Professors Steven Kuney and Jonathan Pitt J.D. Course 038 (cross-listed) | 3 credit hours This course covers the major federal legislation in the field of antitrust law with a primary focus upon governmental efforts to promote competition, including the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act, and Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act. Emphasis is placed upon the growing role of economic analysis and other modern trends in judicial interpretation which analyze vertical and horizontal restraints as illegal per se or under the rule of reason, as well as monopolies and mergers. Students may not receive credit for both this course and Antitrust Economics and Law.
