Administrative Law
Professor Lisa Heinzerling J.D. Course 025 | 3 credit hours This course examines the constitutional and legislative restrictions under which federal administrative agencies operate, and the manner in which the federal courts interpret and enforce those restrictions. Major topics will include judicial review of agency action under the Administrative Procedure Act, procedural due process, and techniques of statutory interpretation. Traditional teaching materials that focus upon legal doctrine and argumentation will be approached from a political science perspective that emphasizes the relationships among, and relative competence of, competing policymaking institutions. This course is offered as an elective in Spring 2014 to first year day students only.
