European Union Law
Professor Tsoukala J.D. Course 816 (cross-listed) | 3 credit hours The course is an in-depth introduction to the law of the European Union. It begins with a historical overview of the processes of European integration and proceeds to examine the legal and institutional foundations of the Union. We will examine areas of substantive law such as the free circulation of people, goods, services, and capital, and antitrust and study the structure and functioning of the Union's main institutions. We will also cover areas such as the protection of human rights in Europe, and the impact of EU law on national cultures and social policies. Students may not receive credit for this course and European Union Law I.
