International Women’s Human Rights Seminar
Professors Guly Sabahi and Teresa Taylor LL.M Seminar 456 (cross-listed) | 3 credit hours This seminar will explore select international women’s human rights issues and the applicable international legal framework, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW.) Guest lecturers with practical expertise in advancing women’s human rights may be invited to join us throughout the semester. Each student will write a paper addressing a significant international women’s human rights issue from a legal perspective, exploring state responsibility under the government’s international human rights obligations, as well as domestic and international responses to the problem. This is an LL.M. seminar. Priority for enrollment is given to students enrolled in the LAWA program.
