This course provides a general survey of the rules of evidence and the reasons underlying these rules. Included are topics related to the admission and exclusion of testimonial and tangible evidence including relevancy, hearsay, examination of witnesses, privileges, expert testimony, scientific evidence, writings, presumptions and judicial notice, among other subjects relating to the regulation of proof at trials. It is an interactive, concrete, problem-oriented course.
Recommended: Prior or concurrent enrollment in Civil Procedure (or the equivalent Legal Process and Society) or Criminal Procedure or Criminal Law.
