Oral Communication Skills for Lawyers
LL.M Seminar 2057 | 1 credit hours (year long)
This year long course is designed to improve the speaking and listening skills and pronunciation of lawyers enrolled in Georgetown University Law Center’s Extended LL.M. degree. The course employs an integrated skills, learner-centered, content-based approach. The use of all language skills in and outside of the classroom gives students many opportunities to practice and receive feedback from both instructor and fellow students. The content-based curriculum is built on legal cases, law school exams, audio, TED videos and current events. Emphasis is placed on increasing students’ speaking and listening skills, enhancing their pronunciation, and developing their vocabulary for legal, general, academic English.
This Class is Restricted to Students Enrolled in the Extended LL.M. with Certificate in American Legal English. This course is graded on a pass-fail basis.
