Global Teaching Fellow: Head Fellow
Professors Aiken, Cedrone, Koplow, Lederman, McMahon, and Rolland
J.D. Course 1232 | 1 credit hours
One or more Head Fellow may be selected from the pool of returning Global Teaching Fellows. Head Fellows will assist the faculty in updating the problem and materials in the fall, facilitate the training of the Fellows in their section in early December, and serve as one of the Fellows during Week One. The time commitment will be roughly 13 hours during the fall, plus the time spent during Week One. Head Fellows are responsible for the other Fellow responsibilities, including attending all meetings and class sessions and preparing the short reaction paper. Please refer to the Global Teaching Fellows webpage (http://www.tinyurl.com/GeorgetownGlobalTeachingFellow) for further information including the application deadline, Fellow responsibilities and requirements, and options for receiving credit.
Prerequisite: Head Fellows must have previously served as Global Teaching Fellows in the problem being taught. Please note: Students do not need to have taken the first-year J.D. course “Week One: Law in a Global Context” to apply.
Mutually excluded courses: Students who are enrolled in a Spring clinic should determine when any mandatory clinical trainings or meetings will take place during Week One and be sure their service as a Head GTF will not conflict with these meetings.
Note: WEEK ONE COURSE. In addition to the fall semester time commitment, this course will meet for one week only, on the following days: Monday, January 11, 2016, through Thursday, January 14, 2016 during the hours described on the Fellow webpage (http://www.tinyurl.com/GeorgetownGlobalTeachingFellow). This course is mandatory pass/fail, and therefore does NOT count against the 7-credit pass/fail limit for J.D. students. This course requires professor permission to enroll. Interested students should contact Margaret Gerety at firstname.lastname@example.org.
