International Environmental Law
Professor Edith Brown Weiss J.D. Course 145 (cross-listed) | 3 credit hours This course analyzes international and national law applicable to environmental and natural resource issues affecting more than one country. Special attention is given to developing a framework of analysis and to examining implementation and compliance issues. The course covers control of air and water pollution, environmental disasters, disposal of hazardous wastes and trade in hazardous chemicals, ozone depletion, climate change, conservation of natural resources with special attention to biological diversity, management of international rivers, and environmental protection and economic development. The course includes a brief introduction to environment and trade issues.
