Introduction to U.S. Constitutional Law
Professors Benedict Lenhart, Florence Pan, and Alan Pemberton LL.M Course 730 | 2 credit hours This course provides an overview of the major constitutional cases over the last 200 years. The first half of the course focuses on how the Constitution affects the fundamental structure of American government. Particular attention will be paid to the critical balances of power between the Federal and state governments (federalism) and among the three branches of the Federal government. The second half of the course will focus on individual rights, with particular emphasis on individual rights in the areas of equal protection, substantive due process, and the First Amendment. Open to all foreign graduate students. Elective course; limited to students educated outside the U.S. Open to all foreign graduate students.
