This course examines the law of copyright and its role within the overall framework of intellectual property law. Topics covered include the subject matter requirements for copyrightability; the rules that govern determination of authorship, the rights that copyright law confers on authors; the rules governing indirect liability of intermediaries and liability for circumvention of technological protections; and the scope of copyright preemption.
