Each year, the D.C. Street Law Project culminates with a Mock Trial Tournament. District of Columbia school students, comprised in teams from their public high schools, play the roles of lawyers and witnesses in a mock trial problem enacted at the D.C. Superior Court, 500 Indiana Ave., NW. The high school students perform outstandingly. In each night of the competition, we have up to 20 simultaneous trials. We need volunteers to judge the trial and to score the performance of the high school students. We prefer the judges to be experienced legal professionals. The highest scoring teams make it to the finals later in the month. We invite you to help us score these students in one of the trials or otherwise assist us on either or both nights of the competition.
This year, the 41st Annual Mock Trial Tournament will consist of two rounds of competition and the finals. The first round will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 6pm at the DC Superior Courthouse. We are asking all scorers and judges to arrive at 5:00pm for a brief orientation, court assignments, and snacks. Trials will conclude by approximately 8pm. The second round will be held on Thursday, March 28th at 6pm at the DC Superior Courthouse. We are asking all scorers and judges to arrive at 5pm for a brief orientation, court assignments, and snacks. Trials will conclude by approximately 8pm. Please check one box:
