Silberman,
who is receiving the award, will deliver an address entitled
“Restructuring the FBI? Thoughts on the WMD Commission’s
Recommendation.” Georgetown Law Professor Viet D. Dinh will provide introductory remarks.
Silberman has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in government and
the private sector. He served as undersecretary of labor, deputy
attorney general, and ambassador to Yugoslavia. In 2004, President
Bush named him as co-chairman to the commission on the intelligence
capabilities of the United States regarding weapons of mass destruction.
The Federalist Society at Georgetown University Law Center is a
student-run chapter, with over 100 active members. The chapter is one
of more than 145 student chapters affiliated with the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.
